Installing the Windows Agent to Receive Remote Support
If a WDS support technician has instructed you to install the Atera Agent on your Microsoft Windows device in order to provide remote support, the following instructions will be helpful. Begin by downloading the "Windows Agent" from the support page on our website, then follow the steps below depending on which web browser you are using -- either Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox. If you are using Microsoft Edge or another browser and have been unsuccessful in installing the Atera Agent, contact us at support@warwickdatasolutions.com for further assistance.
If you're using Google Chrome:
1. The file download notice should have a up arrow or 3 dots next to it:
2. Click the arrow or 3 dots and choose "Keep":
3. The downloaded file icon should now be normal
4. Now, double-click on the file/icon to open/install and a window like this will open, click "Yes
5. The following security notice window will likely pop up, click "Yes"
6. The Agent will install quickly and then disappear. Please inform us once you've gotten this far
If you're using Firefox:
1. The file download notice should have a down arrow next to it. Click the right-arrow next to the download:
2. Click the box titled "Allow download":
3. The downloaded file icon should now be normal, in this case blue
4. Now, click on the download icon and the download will be listed.
5. Double-click the file to open/install or click the "folder" icon to open the Downloads folder where the file is now stored.

6. Now, double-click on the file/icon to open/install and a window like this will open, click "Yes"
7. The following security notice window will likely pop up, click "Yes"
8. The Agent will install quickly and then disappear. Please inform us once you've gotten this far.
